Issuing your first sales invoice

Pick a customer, add lines, check the due date and save the invoice. If you like, record the payment on the same screen.

Steps

  1. 1

    Open the Invoices page

Go to Invoices in the menu and press the “Sales invoice” button.

  2. 2

    Pick the customer

Find the customer in the list. If they are missing, add them from there with “New customer/supplier”. The due date is suggested from the customer’s payment days.

  3. 3

    Add the lines

On each line pick a product from stock or type a free description, then enter quantity, unit price and tax rate. Pressing Enter in the tax field of the last line opens a new line. Use “Add discount” for discounts.

  4. 4

    Instalments and currency if needed

“Create instalment and down-payment plan” asks for the number of instalments and the down payment. The “Foreign-currency price” option lets you enter a line with currency and rate.

  5. 5

    Save

Check the totals and press “Save invoice”; the number is assigned when you save. If the invoice was paid on the spot, tick “Collection also received” and pick the account.
